Our Macmillan Fundraiser at The Beverley Barn

Yesterday, we opened the doors of The Beverley Barn for something that goes far beyond weddings and events. We hosted our Macmillan fundraiser. And as the day came to a close, there was a real sense of gratitude, pride, and, if we’re honest, a touch of emotion too.

Events like this remind us what community really looks like. Not just people turning up, but people showing up. Giving their time, their energy, and their generosity without hesitation.

One of the standout moments of the day came from Jonny, who very kindly donated the bouncy castles and ball pool. It transformed the space for our younger guests. The children had the best time, and that kind of atmosphere ripples through an event. When families can relax and enjoy themselves fully.

Then there were the bakes.

The standard, the effort, the thought behind what people brought along did not go unnoticed. Tables filled with homemade treats, each one a contribution to something that effects so many of us

We’ll be totalling everything up tomorrow. It’s worth being transparent that our QR code didn’t work as it should have on the day, and many guests chose to donate directly via the Macmillan website instead. That means we won’t have a perfectly accurate final figure tied to the event itself.

But here’s the reality. The exact number isn’t the most important part.

What matters is that money has gone to an incredibly important cause. Support has been given. Awareness has been raised. And people came together with genuine intent to make a difference.

At The Beverley Barn, we’re proud to host beautiful weddings and celebrations. But days like today carry a different kind of weight. They remind us why spaces like this exist in the first place. To bring people together. To create moments that matter.

To everyone who baked, donated, helped, and attended. Thank you. We simply couldn’t do this without you.

Kindest regards

Yasmin
