Hello, Yasmin here!
Without the incredible team here at The Beverley Barn, what we do simply would not be possible. Today I want to introduce the people who help us deliver some of the most memorable and beautifully run events in East Yorkshire.
So, let’s begin…
The Team That Keeps The Beverley Barn Running
Running a wedding venue is far more complex than most people realise. Our business operates on many different levels, with a wide range of people working behind the scenes to ensure every event runs smoothly.
Our wider team includes:
• Accounts support
• Gardeners
• Window cleaners
• Bar staff
• Service staff
• Cleaning teams
With so many moving parts, it would be impossible for one person to manage everything alone. Fortunately, we have an exceptional team who work together to make every wedding and event at The Beverley Barn truly special.
Michelle – General Manager
First, let’s talk about Michelle, our General Manager.
Michelle has been with us almost since day one. She originally joined the team helping on the bar when we first opened the business. Over time, it quickly became clear that she had a natural ability to manage both people and operations.
After COVID, Michelle stepped into a full-time role managing both the team and client relationships while Yasmin was on maternity leave.
Michelle now oversees many areas of the business, particularly the client-facing side of things. She ensures couples feel supported throughout their planning journey while also keeping the team organised and motivated.
Having been with us for so long, Michelle knows everything there is to know about our suppliers, our processes and how the barn operates day to day. She is someone the entire team looks up to and the person everyone turns to when they need support, guidance or a solution to a problem.
Simply put, Michelle is a huge part of what makes The Beverley Barn run so smoothly.
Mike – The Man Who Can Fix Anything
Next up is Mike.
Mike is Phil’s brother and has worked with us for many years. Although he is a plumber by trade, his role at the barn has evolved into something much bigger.
Mike is our go-to handyman and problem solver. From painting and plastering to supporting the gardens and tackling maintenance jobs across the venue, Mike is involved in almost every behind-the-scenes improvement we make.
His practical skills, reliability and willingness to help wherever needed make him an invaluable part of the team.
Vickie – Client Enquiries and Communications
Vickie joined us a few years ago as a general member of staff, but she quickly demonstrated how loyal, capable and trustworthy she was.
Over time she worked her way up within the business and now manages client correspondence and enquiries. She helps couples with questions, handles communication and ensures everything runs smoothly from the moment someone gets in touch with us.
Vickie is also incredibly skilled when it comes to technology. If we ever have questions about laptops, printing, systems or anything computer-related, she is the first person we go to.
Her organisational skills and calm approach make a huge difference to our day-to-day operations.
Tyla – Hospitality and Events
Tyla has been with us since 2022 and is a core member of the team.
She plays an important role in supporting couples during their events and also helps plan our wedding showcases and open days.
Tyla has a fantastic hospitality background and brings a wide range of skills to the team. She also happens to make some of the best coffees you will ever try, with impressive latte art to match.
Her attention to detail and friendly approach make her a firm favourite with both couples and guests.
Jensen – Ordering and Stock Management
Jensen is our go-to person for all ordering and stock management.
Every week we work with multiple suppliers to ensure we always have everything we need, including milk for coffees, coffee beans, spirits, beer and special requests from certain brewers.
Jensen also orders our wine from our local wine merchant House of Townend, ensuring we always have the right selection available for our weddings.
Running out of alcohol at a wedding simply isn’t an option, and thanks to Jenson’s organisation and planning, it never happens.
Elizabeth – Our Newest Team Member
Finally, we have Elizabeth, one of our newest team members.
Elizabeth actually discovered The Beverley Barn as a couple when she and her wife were married here in 2025. After their wedding, she joined the team and has quickly become a valued part of it.
She loves helping couples and supporting her colleagues. Elizabeth brings a positive energy to every shift and is always willing to step in and help, even at short notice when guest numbers increase for a wedding.
She is learning quickly and becoming a fantastic addition to the team.
A Team We Are Truly Grateful For
The Beverley Barn simply would not be what it is today without the incredible people behind it.
Phil and I are deeply grateful for the team we have built, and we always try to show our appreciation. One way we do this is through our Star of the Month recognition.
On the last Friday of every month, the team gathers and each staff member votes for a colleague who has supported others, shown reliability, or gone above and beyond that month.
It is our way of celebrating the people who help make The Beverley Barn such a special place to work.
